This accredited qualification is ideal for those who wish to work as a Close Protection Operative within the Private Security Industry. It has been developed to meet the requirements of the Security Industry Authority (SIA) and provides the learner with the necessary knowledge and understanding of the Private Security Industry.
To work within the UK Close Protection Sector everyone is required by law to have the SIA Close Protection Licence. In order to obtain this licence you will need to show the SIA that you are trained and have the Level 3 Close Protection qualification.
This Close Protection course is designed to introduce you into the Close Protection industry with the highest level of training. Our tutors are all specialist with many years of experience in Close Protection.

This course covers the new requirements set out by the SIA in January 2015.

With this course you get:
– Free Level 3 First Aid at Work course and qualification
– Free Level 2 Award in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Automated External Defibrillation (QCF) course and qualification
– Free Close Protection Manual that will give you all the information you will need to know about being a Close Protection Operative.
After you have completed the Level 3 Close Protection course you will have the opportunity to do a firearms course, this course is not in the UK as the UK firearms laws prevent this level of training. The firearms course is at an additional cost.

What is a Close Protection Operative?

A Close Protection Operative (bodyguard) is a type of security operative/agent who protects a principle or client. Usually the person that is being protected is a VIP (Very Important Person) such as a celebrity, someone in governmental power or a very wealthy person.   The general dangers are:  theft, assault, kidnapping, harassment, loss of confidential information, threats, or other criminal offences.

Course Length

This SIA Close Protection Operative course is 15 days. Day one of this course starts at 9:00am. This course is carried out over 3 weeks (Monday to Friday) straight full days, some early starts and late finishes depending on the exercise (over 150 hours of training including weekends).

Course Description

This comprehensive 15 day (over150 hours course work) 3 week course aims to equip delegates with the essential knowledge and practical  skills to enable them to carry CPO duty’s; (Team work, Surveillance & counter Surveillance, Planning jobs & routes, incident management, foot & vehicle drills, and some). The course will have some physical fitness exercise modules in to prove your fitness for the job. Delegates will learn vital skills by participating in unique practical exercises and scenario within a team to understand the roles and responsibilities of a CPO & CPO team.
